Peace Keeping
« on: June 16, 2014, 11:38:39 AM »
The Kingdom of Serbia is deeply concerned with the current conflicts, in Pragusia, in The Arab Republic and the current situation in Mozambique.

We feel that the Security Council and all UoN members should increase their diplomatic efforts to effect peace talks and/or otherwise speed up the peace process and stabilization of the previously mentioned areas of unrest.

Praugsia has approached Poland with a peace proposal, but have yet to hear back from them regarding the matter. Of course, any assistance from the international community to end the war would be greatly appreciated. We applaud Serbia for having the courage to attempt to conjure a response from other nations.

The Kingdom of Finland shares the concerns that the Serbian delegation raises and we applaud their efforts to raise awareness of the current conflicts in our world. We would also mention the instability in the former Russian Empire - particularly in the St Petersburg area.

To demonstrate our on-going commitments to international peace and development, the Finnish government will provide peacekeeping forces not only for Ingria and the city of St Petersburg, but also a gesture of good faith, provide peacekeeping forces for any future AU missions.

East Xibeiguo has maintained a military presence in Praugsia since the begging of the armed conflict there.

Serbia is willing to host all and any forthcoming peace talk.

Unfortunately the Xibei presence in Pragusia is currently in the role as an active combattant is complicating the diplomatic siuation.

Hopefully, East Xibeiguo can begin to shift from military solutions to diplomatic ones, as soon as possible?

The Xebeis are here as part of an agreement to defend strategically important facilities bearing sensitive and classified information and materials pertaining to nuclear power production in Praugsia, as well as the nuclear power plants themselves. With their superior military assets, they act as a deterrent from a Polish attack on these facilities, and we would prefer if they would remain until the end of the conflict.

Should the international community develop a Resolution addressing the Union's role in conflict resolution and peacekeeping operations? I believe that a Resolution the covers treaties can be a first step. All treaties between two or more states must be filled with the Union of Nations. This way, the international community can collectively address treaties violations that include conflict and human rights abuses.

Kurdistan is also concerned about the number of armed conflicts that the world is witnessing. The world community needs to come together to solve social and political issues. This is why Kurdistan advocates for greater interconnection between world powers. Additionally, the members of this Union must look out for small and weak states, such as ours, who may need help developing in this unstable world that we live in.

International Treaties supervision:
The Kingdom of Serbia supports the creation of such a Resolution.

Small States:
The kingdom of Serbia shares this opinion with Kurdistan and would also suggest that an extension of protective measures to include ethnic minorities within major states.
The latter is an issue that is quite pressing within our own state, given the recent unrest in Albania.
