First time, for real? Congratz man, where are you flying from/to?

The Take-off is kinda fun, but honestly, i think flying is just as boring as sitting on a bus.

Flying as in, you're the pilot? The ground has the right of way. Don't play chicken with it.

Flying as in, you're being flown? Bring some loud headphones, get a window seat. Watch the take off, close the window once electronics are on, pass out, wake back up when you need to.

You could do like me the first time I flew and just stay glued to the window looking at how tiny everything is the whole time. If you are going over ocean though this is probably not as much fun...

I have had a few quite memorable flights...

The most scenic one was Frankfurt - Cape Town. Flying over the Sahara Desert during the night is awesome. The sky is clear, and you just see this massive darkness on the ground with a few dots of light here and there.

Another time was Tromsų - Longyearbyen. While approaching the air-port i was lucky enough to spot a polar bear.

I have also experienced landing in strong side winds. The plane was thrown around in the air like a rag-doll. It was a bit frightening, in particular when i was able to see the runway from my window just before landing as the plane had to make the approach flying "sideways".

I must say I love to fly. Really puts into perspective how tiny and insignificant we are when you look down from 40,000 feet in the air. The best part is getting to see your own hometown from the air. Its rather strange.
