« on: April 04, 2008, 04:08:23 PM »
In this Dave Hodge rip off I will give OOC thumbs up and downs... here we go

My thumb is down to UEU for abandoning the forums, this guy has long since bugged me to trust him and give him more responsibility on the forum...not a chance.

My thumb is up to Hobbeebia who seems to have placed a high priority on RPing and being active

My thumb is up to posting in the absense and return thread when you won't be there

My thumb is down to three OOC friends who formed an alliance and really seem to have no ideaological correalation

My thumb is up to KaNgwane for good use of story telling

My thumb is up to Germany and Imperial Russia for firey posts

My thumb is finally up to Brian, who is awesome !!! :D

My thumb is down to his job...quit already!! Just kidding!

My thumb is down to the recent hike in GDP & military budgets...I long for a simpler time when people (myself included) were satisfied with less.

My thumb is down to my decision to reluctantly allow an insurgent movement in one of my provinces...what was I thinking? I'm not cut out for this sort of RP.

My thumb is down to the fact that I see no option but to order the greatest single act of genocide in recorded history. Not sure I'm really comfortable with this.

My thumb is (sadly) down to Darjeeling...I gave him Sri Lanka, and even offered to help launch his nation, but he seems to hav joined the long list of players who have taken my land and then failed to do anything with it.

My thumb is up to all the active players on NSAfrica.

My thumb is up to Germanic, for his efforts with the map.

My thumb is up to Andy, for his work on the new wiki (don't close it down...please!)

My thumb is up to those who created the old wiki (sorry, I can't recall who did what, but you know who you are!)

My thumb is up to Neal and Brian, for keeping this place going.

My thumb is up to Rhodesia and KaNgwane for RPing realistic African nations, and not trying to be monstrous hyperpowers!

Thank you. What can I say, we keep it real in Africa.

I'd also like to say thumbs up for the Cartographer, who is working really hard on that new map.

Yes this was my doing.

Yes this was my doing.

Indeed so...you talked me into it  :-D

I'm not usually squeamish when it comes to RP (I gained a certain amount of notoriety in my offline gaming community for RPing a pretty blonde girl, who in the course of one night single-handely murdered all 150 members of a barbarian tribe with a scythe...simply because they had commandered her room), but there is definitely something deeply unsettling about condemning 9 million imaginary people to a lingering death in order to flush out 30,000 odd insurgents.

By the way if you have opinions don't hesitate to post them. It's all about what we like and what we don't like here, this is a thread to let others know.

Ha ha.. Thanks Glash, if I were evaluating myself, my thumbs would be way down, because I have been neglectful of the forum.  Next week I will be in Malaysia, but they do have internet there, so I hope to remain engaged. My job has been keeping me away from the game...ironically, it is the perfect job to gainforeign affairs experience and employ it in our simulation -- so I am a bit mixed about the whole thing.  I like to imagine that I live a bit of real life nationstatesafrica when I sit around a table of foreign diplomats, and I have to admit that at times I am tempted to share with them the nationstates website and ask them to sign up a nation...maybe at the next meeting :)

Our thumbs go up to well, let's just say, a lot of people! We can't really give a long list but key recognition goes to Rhodesia (for putting up with us) and to Warlordia who have returned after a long time - welcome!

Just make sure you spend some time with your family. Know that we understand that you are trying to be everywhere at once and even though we say we love you here, know also, that we are not trying to pressure you to be here. This travelling is harder on you and your family than us. So, just make sure that you do the important things first. We're your friends, we'll always be here.

Only been here a week but I'll toss my two cents in....

My thumb is up to Neal for being a stellar AUSG. I still really know what he is supposed to actually do but so far WWIII hasn't broken out so he must be doing well.

My thumb is up to all nations taking part in the RP in Germany, good show guys, fun to read.

My thumb is down to Sparta for invading a peaceful nation... Why are you named Sparta anyways when you don't even have a piece of Greece?

My thumb is down to people who only show up to RP threats and military actions. This is a world with people in it, other things happen...

My thumb is up to USA for being a good man on a non-military RP and getting a drought going.

My thumb is up to UFS and the Aegean for the RP I found on the dams.

My thumb is up to this website, I'm having a great time so far.

My thumb is down to me for not keeping this going.

My thumb is down to university exams and the constraints it has been placing on mine and others posting.

My thumb is up to Confederate Republics for keeping things moving.

My thumb is up to KaNgwane for RP'ing something.

My thumb is down to the AU for not getting really involved in the RP with KaNgwane.

My thumb is up to Dan and Jessie for keeping me alive during my exam time.

My thumb is up to the current members of the HoI and their signing.

My thumb is down to me for not getting the HoI involved in something sooner, but I promise that something will happen sopn.

It's your humour that got me through that rough patch last week...and my jokes about wickens.
