Mapping Your State Part II - New Players Please Read
« on: June 18, 2008, 09:40:32 AM »
(This is a continuation of the "Mapping Your State - For New Players" topic.)

All new players wishing to request land should post here. The procedure for mapping is as follows:

1. Find the unoccupied piece of land you want from the latest map. The latest map is usually found on the last page of this thread. If it isn't there keep going back in the thread until you find a post from the cartographer (myself) with a map, which should be an Imageshack thumbnail.

2. Find the province numbers for the territory you wish to occupy using the "Provinces of Africa" maps here. Please post the subregion and the province numbers in the thread.

3. If approved, you will be mapped in the next map update. It may not be the same day you apply, so please be patient. I try to do a new map as often as possible, usually once a week when necessary.

Existing players wishing to have territory added to their nation should also post in this thread. You will be required to post the province numbers and a short description of how you have obtained the territory.

Finally, you must provide me with both the subregion and the province numbers you wish to be mapped to. I've put the link to the page in this post, so no excuses. If you don't provide the numbers you will not be mapped.

4. You may not claim more than 5 provinces to begin with.

Addition:

I check the IP's of everybody applying to be a new state. If you are attempting to multistate I will contact an Admin and ask for their approval before mapping you.

On that subject, if anybody new absolutely has to have the Czech Republic, send me a PM and it's yours.

If you are inactive for two months you will be unmapped if you do not make an effort at IC posts within that time or talk to me about reserving your spot. I make an effort to contact people who have left about one month before their deadline, so you will have plenty of warning.

You will be unmapped after:

  • New States: 14 Days to prove commitment to game without an excuse
  • Established States: 30 Days without an excuse and no posts, 90 days with an excuse and no posts.

You attempts to contact you will be made if your deadline is approaching.

Would a Photoshop document suffice?

Effective immediately the nations of Malawi and Kazakhstan are available to any new player who wishes to embark on a unique roleplaying adventure!

I am also offering the NSAfrica accounts of "Malawi" and "Kazakhstan" and give permission to pick up my story lines and write the next chapters of Presidents Bingu wa Mutharika and Borat Sagdiev, respectively. Both are eccentric characters and, no doubt, have a lot of potential in them!

If interested, please send me a private message.

Can I be allowed to RP as Kazakhstan? I have some ideas for the nations future.
Former Nations: United Finjin States, Flamingo Ninja, Kurdistan, Balkan Federation, Limburg

As with Malawi I'd like Brian's input before mapping you.

If any of these RL territories becomes avalible, may I have them? Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Denmark, Belgium, or Czech Republic.

I wish to reconnect former German territories (Prussia...).

Well, seeing as all of those territories are currently occupied by nations that don't look kindly upon Germany at this point I don't think you can just "take" them. Even if they were unoccupied you would have to RP an invasion and occupation of them before requesting any sort of territorial additions. Of course, that would probably be opposed by most everybody and the AU would be dispatched to stop your invasion.

So I'd hold back on printing the "Wilkommen in Danzig," signs.

Also, you know who else wanted to reunite the German Empire? That's right...

Yes... I see your point... But, what I mean is if the countries leave (like one of the coutnries quit) could I have the territory through process of the AU? Just wondering if it was possible.

You can try to submit a resolution to the AUSG Council.

Indeed he can. But I don't think Jess or Andy are leaving any time soon so printing new maps with "Ostland" on them may be a tad premature.

The new thread?

No, the fact that people are requesting lands already without even sanctioning them through the proper organizations.  I think it's due time for a real, "How to Play" handbook.

Especially when they're currently occupied.

Praugsia, this is notice that you have one week from tomorrow, June 20th, to post or your state will be unmapped. If there is something going on OOC preventing you from posting, please tell me or another moderator or an admin.

I have to agree with Andy that this irritates me. I would prefer to see nations try to RP their territory decently before they start to expand or let their country collapse to start again somewhere else.

Hello, again. I have been innactve for quite a long time, again. So, I wish to re-map my state, again. I wish for the following provinces in the northern sub region: 29, 30, 31, 33, 34, 35. Thanks, again.

You haven't been unmapped so I'm not going to re-map you. However, please keep in mind that you must make in-character posts or you will be unmapped.
