The puppet government of  Salah Mohammed al-Aoofi put in place by the god-kings of Akhtendum had been highly unpopular with the local populace made up mainly of Christians and black Africans. A popular riot spearheaded by the Revolutionary national Front led to a palace coup which overthrew the Al-Aoofi regime forcing the former into exile.

A new government was formed under the leadership of William Bonny (maj), implementing socialist policies, the government banned all other political parties and created a ruling council, the revolutionary national council (RNC) as the Government Cabinet led by the second in command, Nicholas Barak.

The new government realigned itself with the Socialist Alliance, rejecting all other economic ideologies and has largely maintained an isolationist policy.

The Seat of Government is at Juba while the capital is the Red Nile.

VIII. Economy

The White Nile has been plagued by decades of Civil war and conflict has left the economy in shambles. Agricultural output had dropped to less than 50% and famine threatened large areas of Southern and Western White Nile. Almost all industry and arable ground has been nationalized by the State with new laws regulating the economy.

Cattle herding and fishing are popular among the semi-nomadic tribes in the northern part of the country which allows the country to export a lot of livestock.

Continued migration from the Rural areas to urban centers has led to over-crowding and a large unemployment rate although new policies and projects have been enacted by government to reduce unemployment, work camps have been set up in order to re-educate unemployed youth and as part Revolutionary national front’s Socialism Project.

The Mining Industry is heavily subsidized by the Government which has led to a huge debt problem with the Government now relying on the African Union to aid in its development program.
